North Anna Deer Camp

If you book this property, you will receive an email from the owner with specific directions (Google maps and some other GPS units are wrong and enjoy directing you to the wrong side of the river and suggesting you walk the rest of the way!) and an invitation to walk the property beforehand. Please be on the lookout for this email as it may go into your junk mail. 58 acres of hardwood trees bordered by the North Anna River, a 50-acre corn, soybean or hay field, and 2 creeks. There are 1.61 miles of trails cut through the woods. Species include deer, bear, coyote, bobcat, fox, turkey, quail, grouse, and ticks. There have been two albino deer, one buck, and one doe previously on the property. There is currently an approximately 450 lb papa bear and his family in residence. Please do not harvest the bears. 

The landowner has a Kawasaki Mule UTV and if schedules permit before your hunt, and you want to set up a tree stand the landowner can most likely assist with that. Also, with bringing game out.

May 2023 Update: There is now a complete black bear (Ursus Americanus) family on the property. Papa bear is approximately 450 lb, mama is not petite, there is a 2-year-old and as of 17 May 2023, a few month old cub. The bears are not to be taken.

April 2023 Update: My 34-year-old tractor which I used to create and maintain the trails has passed on and is now in tractor heaven. I have purchased a new tractor. That is the good news. The bad news is that the new tractor is 15” wider and cannot make it around the trail. The trail from the barn and along the field totals approximately 0.5 mile and I am slowly widening that portion. I sincerely doubt that the remainder will get widened this year. I will still do my best to keep the entire 1.61 miles passable if you have a 4-wheeler or ATV.
